Support Scotland in leading the fight against climate change

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

The Scottish Government has just published proposals for the most progressive climate change legislation in the world: the Scottish Climate Change Bill. If the proposals are passed, they could commit Scotland to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050 – the target that all developed countries should make if we are to avoid the worst effects of climate change.

Take action here to encourage the Scottish Government to be bold and lead the world.

The rare Saola needs your help

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

Two Vietnamese provinces recently signed commitments to conserve the saola, a rare animal discovered just 15 years ago by a team of scientists from WWF and the Vietnamese Ministry of Forestry.

It was the first large mammal discovered anywhere in the world since 1936 and scientists are still trying to figure out whether it is a goat, antelope or cow species.

Only 11 saola have ever been recorded alive by scientists and fewer than 250 are estimated to exist today.

Find out more about the Soala and this action or sign the petition and urge Vietnamese officials to continue their critical efforts to ensure that the Saola survives.
